DEMOCRATIC ALTERNATIVES AGAINST INEQUALITY AND INEQUITY, IN TIMES OF GLOBAL CRISIS

• Extension and radicalizing of democracy: control and trasparency of public administration; deepening of decentralizing and regional-based processes; extension of participation mechanisms, and strengthening of civil society networks.
• Recognition of and possibilities to demand economic, social and cultural rights: denounce and reject commercial and negotiation agendas that seek to break regional integration processes. Correspondingly, themes like water recourses, public services, inversions, public purchases, competition and intellectual property should be excluided from negotiations. The people´s right to circulate without restrictions and the rights of inmigrants should be fully recognized.
• A new international financial system: we need to establish a financial system that guarantees the progressive and differentiated taxation of capital income and we need to revert encouragements of the financial system to obtain exorbitant benefits by means of speculation.
• Global environmental justice in the face of climate change: the costs to administer the crisis should be assumed by the people that benefitted from the spectacular profits up to this moment.
• Strengthening and redesignment of international cooperation: establishment of global solidarity mechanisms and effective enquiry and consultation mechanisms, permanent monitering and evaluation of the criteria, proyects and programmes of international cooperation.

Échange d’expériences entre organisations latino-américaines pendant le Forum social des Amériques en es pt
26 août 2010, Du 11au 15 août, des représentants des mouvements sociaux des pays latino-américains et caribéens se sont retrouvés dans la ville d'Asunción, au Paraguay, pour la quatrième édition du Forum social des Amériques (FSA). Plusieurs plates-formes de la MESA de Articulación, ainsi que nombre de leurs ONG membres, ont participé aux différentes activités, tables-rondes et ateliers. -

Premier atelier : exercice de diplomatie non gouvernementale sur les inégalités en es pt
7 décembre 2009, Le 18 novembre s’est tenue à Bruxelles la première session de travail sur l’exercice de diplomatie non gouvernementale « Lutte contre l’exclusion sociale et les inégalités », lors de l’Assemblée de CONCORD. La MESA des associations nationales et réseaux d’ONG d’Amérique latine et des Caraïbes et la plate-forme chilienne des ONG, ACCIÓN, sont responsables de cet exercice.
